From La Plata, Argentina to San José de Mayo, Uruguay

My motorcycle trip this time is from La Plata, Argentina to San José de Mayo, Uruguay
It’s a journey of about 220km, crossing the border.

I am leaving La Plata.

I’m getting on the highway to CABA.

All I have to do now is continue straight down this path.

I arrived at Peaje Hudson.

The motorcycle costs AR$3,000, which is about USD 2.26.

The number of cars increased considerably from this point onward.

And I arrived in CABA about 36 minutes after leaving La Plata.

I will get off the highway and head towards Plaza de Mayo.

I have arrived at Plaza de Mayo.

Buenos Aires is truly exceptional, even within Argentina.

Gasoline is expensive in Uruguay, so I’ll fill up here.

I’m heading to the Buquebus terminal.

And then I arrived.

I will follow the instructions.

I parked my motorcycle and proceeded with the boarding procedures.

First, I checked in on the first floor, but since I had already completed online check-in beforehand, this was unnecessary.

Then I went upstairs to the second floor and proceeded to security.

Since I had all my luggage on my motorcycle, I passed through here easily.

We completed our exit from Argentina and entry into Uruguay here.

Once I’ve passed through immigration, I’ll go through the cafeteria, down the stairs, and come back.

It looks like the ship is ready, so I will board.

All I have to do now is wait for arrival on the ship.

Unfortunately, Wi-Fi is not available for a fee.

Departure

The ship arrived in Uruguay in about an hour and a half.

Shortly after I disembarked, I came across customs.

Here, they checked my identification and motorcycle insurance.

I’m heading from Colonia to San José.

The roads around here are straight, but there are ups and downs.
I’m walking along a road with a tropical feel.
Surprisingly, there was a strong southerly wind blowing around here.

I drove for about an hour and arrived at Peaje Cufre.

Just to be sure, I got off to check if there was a toll, and I was told that motorcycles on the highway are free in Uruguay, so I should go through the right lane.

As soon as I passed through the tollbooth, I entered San José province from Colonia province.

I then switched from Highway 1 to Highway 11.

I will continue down the same unchanging path.

And then I entered San José de Mayo.

I have arrived at Plaza de los 33 Orientales, located in the city center.

The main purpose of my trip this time was crossing the border, but the procedure itself was surprisingly easy.

I previously traveled from Colonia to Buenos Aires, and it was even easier then because I didn’t have a motorcycle.

At that time, arriving 30 minutes early seemed sufficient, but if you have a vehicle, it’s probably better to arrive about 1 hour and 30 minutes in advance.

My journey in Uruguay begins now.
