From General Pico in Argentina to Bahia Blanca

My motorcycle trip this time will take me from General Pico to Bahia Blanca in Argentina.

The distance is approximately 430km.

I could take RP1 to RN33 and head south, which would be about 30km shorter, but I’ve heard that the road conditions there are poor, so I’ll take a longer route via Santa Rosa.

I will leave General Pico before sunrise.

I quickly reached the city center.

I turned right onto RP102 instead of continuing on RP1.

I head towards RN35 in the morning light.

I joined RN35 a little over 30 minutes after I set off.

From here on, I just followed the road.

I continue heading south.

I arrived in Santa Rosa in about 1 hour and 20 minutes.

I should ideally take a detour around the town, but I’m going to go through it.

I visited Santa Rosa two years ago, so I’ll skip it this time.

And I head south again down the empty road.

I stopped at General San Martín, before entering Buenos Aires province, to refuel.

At this station, Infinia gasoline was $2.017/L, approximately USD 1.41.

At Santa Rosa, Infinia gasoline was $2.028/L, approximately USD 1.42.

I will go back to RN35 and proceed.

And I entered Bahia Blanca 4 hours and 45 minutes after departure.

I’m heading for the city center.

I have arrived at Rivadavia Square.

The long distance was the main challenge of my trip, but fortunately the road conditions weren’t bad and there wasn’t much traffic, so I was able to ride without pushing myself too hard.

The rear tire I had replaced in El Calafate six months ago is now showing wear indicators, so I plan to replace it in Bahia Blanca.
