From Puerto Montt, Chile to Hornopiren
My motorcycle trip this time is from Puerto Montt, Chile, to Hornopiren.
This is a 110km journey.
I’ll be taking the ferry from Caleta La Arena to Caleta Puelche.

I leave Puerto Montt at sunrise.
The Centro is crowded in the morning.

I head south past the start of the Austral Carretas in Costanera.

The morning of this day was cold and foggy, probably due to the rain from the previous day.

I arrived at Caleta La Arena in about 50 minutes.

I board the ferry and head to the other side.
$8,280, or about USD 9.25

I arrived at Caleta Puelche on the opposite bank in about 40 minutes.

From here to Hornopiren, it’s a straight road of about 57km.
It’s all paved, so I’m comfortable.

I walk through a mountain path with nothing particularly interesting to see.

The scenery here doesn’t change, so I enjoyed the mountain path.

I arrived at Hornopiren in about 40 minutes.
I continued on to Plaza de Armas.

I’ve arrived at the square

This time, I set out in the morning, but I didn’t expect the temperature to be so low in the summer.
The weather in Patagonia is changeable, so I set out to avoid the rain, which turned out to be a good decision.
I’ll be traveling on unpaved roads again from now on, so I’ll proceed with caution.
