My motorcycle trip this time was from Osorno to Valdivia, Chile.

It was about a 110km journey.

I’m leaving Osorno

I take the 5 highway from the east side of town.

It started raining.

Unfortunately, the weather was unstable that day, with rain coming and going constantly.

About 20 minutes after I left, the state changed from Los Lagos to Los Rios.

About 40 minutes after I set off, I arrived at the toll booth at Liberado La Union.

It was quite crowded, and it took me about five minutes to get through.

The toll was $1,100, or about USD1.28.

There’s a fork just before Paillaco.

I’ll take a right here and move from Route 5 to Route 206.

I walk along the road swaying back and forth in the rain.

This road would be fun if it were sunny.

Before I knew it, I had arrived in Valdivia.

I continued on my way to the central area.

As I get closer to Centro, the number of cars increases and the roads become very crowded.

And then I arrived at the Plaza de la República

My trip this time involved rain, but it was tolerable because the distance was short.

The weather in southern Chile is changeable, so that’s unavoidable.

I spent the first half of the trip just driving straight, but the second half was quite enjoyable.

Chile only has one north-south road, so heavy traffic is a drawback.
