My motorcycle trip this time is from Perito Moreno, Argentina, to Chile Chico, Chile.

The distance is approximately 74 km.

I’m crossing the border.

I’m leaving Perito Moreno

Soon I came to RP43, where I turned left.

All I have to do now is head straight towards the border while enjoying the scenery.

I arrived in Los Antiguos about 45 minutes after I set off.

Gas is expensive in Chile, so I fully charged my car, including the spare tank, in this town.

The Infinia was priced at AR$1.967/L, or about USD1.33.

And about five minutes after leaving the town, I arrived at the Argentine border, Paso Internacional Rio Jeinimeni.

I head to the building on the right in the back.

It seems crowded there.

I go through immigration and customs as usual.

I completed the process in less than three minutes, but it took about 40 minutes due to the traffic.

Now, I’m leaving for Chile.

After a while, I came across a change in road surface.

This is the border between Argentina and Chile.

I continued on to Chilean immigration.

I arrived at immigration on the Chilean side.

I waited in line for 30 minutes and first got my immigration stamp.

Then I went through customs.

It took me another 30 minutes to finally clear customs.

Next, I put all my luggage on a conveyor belt and had it scanned through X-ray machines.

It took me about 30 minutes to unload my luggage from the motorcycle, have it checked, and then reload it.

Now, I’m finally ready to leave.

I arrived at the entrance to the town of Chile Chico in about 10 minutes.

And then I arrived at Plaza Chile Chico, the town’s central square.

My trip this time was short, so crossing the border was the main focus.

I’ve crossed the Argentina-Chile border many times, so it went smoothly, but perhaps due to the New Year’s holiday, it was very crowded. It took me about 30 minutes on the Argentine side and 1 hour and 30 minutes on the Chilean side, including the full baggage scan, for a total of two hours to complete the border crossing procedures.

This was the longest border crossing I’ve ever crossed.

It seems we should choose the right time to enter Chile.
