From Trelew, Argentina to Comodoro Rivadavia

My motorcycle journey this time took me from Trelew, Argentina, to Comodoro Rivadavia, the southernmost city in Chubut Province.

The distance was approximately 375 km.

This route is notorious for strong winds, so I drove cautiously.

I departed Trelew in the morning and was making good progress, but my SD card malfunctioned along the way. Consequently, this time the record begins near Garayalde, a town about 200km into my journey.

This is the only gas station, operated by YPF, located roughly 200km from Trelew.

I had already filled my auxiliary tank with gas en route, so I passed this station.

I was driving south on an empty road, but that day the crosswind from the west was extremely strong, forcing me to shift down one gear to increase torque for driving.

In the video, you can see me being blown sideways multiple times.

The weather started to look ominous.

Because of the wind, I felt very cold there.

As I approached the town of Comodoro, hills appeared on both sides of the road.

Even with the hills there, I felt no wind at all.

Around Cañadón Ferrays, I simply descend the slope.

Thanks to the hills blocking the wind, I finally encountered a pleasant stretch of road.

And this is a state police checkpoint.

It took me nearly five hours to get here.

And as I walked a little further, City came into view.

It’s been a long journey to get here.

When I entered Comodoro, the number of cars suddenly increased.

There are many cars here, and I find it difficult to drive.

As I walked down the hill, the sea came into view.

I got excited.

And I pass through the city center.

I arrived at Costanera after taking a detour around the city.

It took me about five and a half hours to get here from Trelew.

Unfortunately, due to data corruption, this record only covers the latter part of the trip. However, the conditions during both the first and second halves of the journey felt largely similar.

The strong crosswinds and headwinds during the trip significantly reduced the motorcycle’s fuel efficiency.

Additionally, I had to ride with extreme caution, making it a mentally exhausting journey.
