My motorcycle trip this time will take me from Moquegua to Tacna in southern Peru.
The distance is approximately 160km.
I’ll also visit the Complejo Monumental Alto de la Alianza, just before Tacna.

I’m leaving Moquegua

About 10 minutes from the city center, I arrived in the city center.

In about 20 minutes, the wilderness opens up before me.

After another 20 minutes, I reached a fork in the road.
If I turned right, I could reach the seaside town of Ilo.
But this time, I decided to continue straight.

I cross the tracks carefully

In about an hour, I crossed the Moquegua department and entered the Tacna department.

Around this point, a strong wind started to blow.
I drove carefully.

Motorcycles are free on Peruvian toll roads.
I slip through the cones on the far right.

There was no customs officer at Tomasiri, so I was able to go through.

Now, I’m at a fork in the road.
If I continue straight, I’ll reach the city of Tacna, but I’ll turn right to visit the Complejo Monumental Alto de la Alianza.

I am arriving

Now, I’ll go back the way I came and join the main road.

I could see the city of Tacna right away.

I left Moquegua and arrived in Tacna about two hours later.

I’m heading straight for the center

I arrived at Tacna Square in the city center.
You can see a glimpse of the cathedral.

The wind was strong on my trip, requiring careful driving.
There were few cars on the road, so I was able to drive comfortably.
Luckily for me, the weather was nice and warm that day.
