Before heading to Oruro, I make a detour to the Uyuni Salt Flats, the biggest attraction in Uyuni.
The salt flats are about 27km away from the city of Uyuni.
The entrance to the salt flats is about 70km away from Incahuasi Island.

From here I drive along nothing special roads.
I arrived at Colchani in about 16 minutes.
If I get this far, I’m almost there.
I arrived at the entrance to the Uyuni Salt Flats about 25 minutes from the city of Uyuni.
I’m going to do some sightseeing.
First, Ojo del Salar.
Salt water springs up here.
Next, we went to the nearby National Flag Square.
Here you can see the Dakar monument and the salt restaurant.
Now, I headed for Incahuasi Island, about 70km away.
I arrived there in about an hour.
I was satisfied and will return
It took me less than an hour to get back.
And I washed the motorcycle right away.
According to the owner of our lodging in Uyuni, there were two head-on collisions caused by drunk drivers in the vast Uyuni Salt Flats just recently.
If you are going on a tour, make sure the driver doesn’t smell like alcohol.
