engine stopped while driving"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While I was riding my motorcycle through the town of Monte Hermoso, the engine suddenly stopped.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And then it wouldn&#8217;t start again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video height=\"1080\" style=\"aspect-ratio: 1920 \/ 1080;\" width=\"1920\" controls src=\"https:\/\/dream-journey.net\/moto\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/IMG_7348.mov\"><\/video><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is a problem for me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Luckily, I was only about two blocks from home, so I pushed it back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A sudden stop while riding a motorcycle means\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No gasoline<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Engine malfunction<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Electrical system failure<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Oil system<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are many possible causes, but I need to investigate them one by one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The things that come to mind are the air filter and the spark plugs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I replaced the air filter in Coyhaique, Chile, and have driven 6,500 km since then.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That&#8217;s a short distance, but I do a lot of riding on gravel roads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I replaced the spark plugs in Bariloche, Argentina, and have driven 4,600 km since then.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These are standard plugs, not iridium or anything special, so I suspect these are the culprits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For now, I&#8217;ll try class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I&#8217;ve decided to keep using it as is instead of replacing it with a new one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For now, the engine starts, so there&#8217;s no problem, but motorcycles tend to develop various problems once they exceed 50,000 km.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It&#8217;s currently over 75,000 km.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It might be difficult to tour the northern area of \u200b\u200bSouth America on this motorcycle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right wp-block-paragraph\">Date worked: July 4,
