I was trying to do some maintenance on the chain, and when I tried to put the motorcycle on the center stand, the right side didn’t reach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When I checked to see what was causing the problem, the center stand was warped.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is obviously at a weird angle, so I’ll try removing it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The holes are not aligned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I thought it would be quicker to cut this and put it back together than to bend it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I remember there were a lot of welding shops there when I was walking around El Alto, but I don’t think I’ve seen them in La Paz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So I’m going to take it to El Alto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I found one right away, so I asked him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He told me that there was someone waiting, so it would be an hour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I asked him how much it would cost, and he said Bs.30, about 4.37 USD.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I decided to go out and come back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And an hour later<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apparently he first tries to fix it and bend it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I took it home and put it on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I tried it out and it worked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I bought two pantograph jacks in El Alto just to be safe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first one cost Bs.150, about 21.87 USD.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The other one cost Bs.65, about 9.48 USD.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is the difference?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a Kawasaki product that I feel is reliable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, if the center stand becomes warped again, I can fix it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I don’t know if it was bent during an accident or if it was rubbed against a bump to slow down, which is common in South America, so I’ll be a bit more careful about it from now on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By the way, the clutch pedal started falling off around the same time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I removed it to check, and the screw was stripped.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I used another screw I had instead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is probably because the notch on the inside is worn, but the position sometimes changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I need to go to a repair shop at some point, so I’ll ask about it when I get there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
