I’m heading from Cafayate in the north of Argentina to Salta, the capital of Salta Province.
I’ll take the famous RN68 and make a detour to tourist spots like the Devil’s Throat.
This is the 190km route from red to yellow on the map.

I’ll start with RN68 and aim for the Devil’s Throat.

Within 15 minutes of me leaving Cafayate, the scenery turns into wilderness.

I arrived at the tourist spot, Los Castillos, in about 20 minutes.

This is very impressive.
Now, I’m heading to Salta, 140km away.
The wilderness spreads

After about 30 minutes of walking, the scenery changes from the wilderness to the usual.

As I approach Salta, the scenery changes to the city.

I arrived in the center of Salta in about two and a half hours.

I arrived there about 190km from Cafayate, about 3 and a half hours later.
The road I took this time was very refreshing because the scenery is something you can’t see in Japan.
Date of ride: August 13, 2024
This time’s harvest
I like arriving in the city early, but I also like enjoying the scenery while riding.
