From Puerto Rio Tranquilo in Chile to Coyhaique
My motorcycle trip this time was from Puerto Rio Tranquilo in Chile to Coyhaique.
The distance was approximately 215km.

I leave Puerto Rio Tranquilo

This road also turns into a dirt road as soon as I set off.

This route is not very scenic

I thought there were many deep sandy areas here.

The road here is bumpy and has many curves, so I had to drive carefully.

This is my final challenge on the unpaved road.
This area is full of deep sand, steep hills, and curves.
This is a triple whammy, and it’s a place I never want to drive again.

And about two and a half hours after I set off, the unpaved road finally came to an end at the 105km point.

When the road conditions are good, I can enjoy the scenery.

And then I arrived at Cerro Castillo

I’ll fill up here.
At COPEC in Cerro Castillo
93 is $1.282/L, or about USD 1.45
95 is $1.317/L, or about USD 1.49
97 is $1.340/L, or about USD 1.51

I’m leaving.
The scenery here is beautiful.

The temperature dropped considerably after I crossed Cerro Castillo.

I passed through the pasture

About four hours after leaving Puerto Rio Tranquilo, I finally arrived in Coyhaique.
I continued on to the Plaza de Armas.

And I arrived

The road to Cerro Castillo was particularly challenging on this trip.
The deep sand, heavy traffic, sand being kicked up by cars, the blinding curves, and the steep slopes were all difficult for me.
This route was quite challenging, even compared to my previous experiences.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to enjoy the scenery as much as I wanted.
