From El Chalten, Argentina to Gobernador Gregores
My motorcycle trip this time is from El Chalten in southern Argentina to Governador Gregores.
The distance is about 300 km, but along the way there’s a section known as the “73 Cursed Roads.”
This is about 73 km of Patagonian winds and unpaved roads.

I’m leaving El Chalten

I head east, riding the tailwind.
The view of Fitz Roy through my mirrors is the most beautiful I’ve ever seen.

I arrived at RN40 in no time.
I’ll turn left here.

A tailwind is good

I left El Chalten and passed Tres Lagos in about an hour and 20 minutes.

Once I pass Tres Lagos, there will be a headwind for a while.

And then I finally arrived at Los 73 Malditos.

I drive carefully through the deep gravel and strong crosswinds of Patagonia.

The first 20km was difficult for me because of the deep sand, but as I got closer to Lake Caldiel the sand got shallower and it became much easier for me to drive.

I completed the 73km journey in 2 hours and 20 minutes.

Now I just take it easy and head towards the city.

And I arrived at Gobernador Gregores

I left El Chalten and it was about a five-hour journey.

The most difficult part of my trip this time was Los 73 Malditos on RN40.
I had experienced the rough roads of Aduroa Park in Bolivia, so I was able to drive comfortably, but the 20km or so to the south is a road I would never want to drive on a motorcycle again.
I hope this road is improved soon.
