Los Glaciares National Park
My motorcycle trip this time was from El Calafate, Argentina, to Los Glaciares National Park, where you can see the Perito Moreno Glacier.
The distance is approximately 77 km.

I’m leaving El Calafate

The wind was very strong that day, so I drove carefully while braving the crosswinds.

About 30 minutes after I set off, I arrived at the junction with Puerto Bandera.
I turned left here.

I arrived at the entrance to Los Glaciares Park in about 6 minutes.

I buy tickets here

The entrance fee is AR$45,000, or about USD31.07.
As was the case with Peninsula Valdes, Argentina’s national parks are quite expensive.

I’ll keep going while looking at the scenery

About 20 minutes after entering the park, I arrived at my first viewpoint, Los Suspiros.
I could see the glacier in the distance.

Now that I’ve enjoyed the view, I’m heading to the next observation spot.

J’arrivai rapidement au point d’observation suivant.
Cet endroit n’a pas de nom spécifique ; il porte simplement le nom de la route, la RN11.

I got a little closer to the glacier, but the view isn’t that great.

Now I move on to the final point.

I arrived at the parking lot in about 10 minutes.

Apparently, I need to walk from here to get to the observation point.

There is a cafe and toilets here.

We can also book kayaking tours here.

I walk along the promenade

Me acerqué al glaciar.

I’ve arrived at the observation point.
It looks like we could continue hiking from here, but it would take at least two hours, so I’ll stop.

My trip this time was difficult due to the strong crosswinds, but once I entered the park, I was able to enjoy the mountain trails.
This was my first time seeing a glacier, and hearing that the ice is approximately 18,000 years old piqued my interest.
