Motorcycle Trip

From Arequipa to Moquegua, Peru

My motorcycle trip this time was from Arequipa to Moquegua, Peru.

The distance was approximately 230km.

I’m leaving Arequipa

I quickly arrived in the city.

It took me a while because I chose the wrong road.

Once I leave the city, I immediately enter the wilderness.

There’s a lot of traffic here, including oncoming traffic.

After 30 minutes, there will be sand and stones.

I passed La Repartición in about an hour.

I’m heading south from here.

The roads here are straight, so I was bored.

I entered the mountain path

I’ve just come out of the mountains and arrived at El Fiscal.

I’ll refuel here.

I drive around here while being careful of falling rocks.

Visibility ahead was poor.

There had been a large sandstorm in Arequipa the day before, and the wind was strong that day, so I had a bad feeling.

In about two and a half hours, I left Arequipa and entered Moquegua.

As expected, I got caught in a sandstorm.

In Peru, cars drive at high speeds even when visibility is poor.

I’m glad there were no curves here.

I left Arequipa and finally arrived in Moquegua about three and a half hours later.

Speed signs in Peru can be confusing, as they sometimes use miles and sometimes kilometers.

I drove another 10 minutes and arrived at Plaza de Armas, the city center.

This trip was warm and warm for the first time in a while.

Although there was a sandstorm along the way, the road was uneven, and overall I enjoyed it.

In Peru, safe driving is essential to avoid getting caught in other vehicles.
