This time I’m heading from Uruguaiana in the state of Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil to Asuncion, the capital of Paraguay.
The distance is about 720km, which is the longest distance I’ve ever traveled.
I estimate it will take 10 hours.
That’s from red to yellow on the map.
I’ll enter Argentina from Sao Borja in Brazil, and go from Posadas to Encarnacion in Paraguay.
Then I’ll head to Asuncion.

To the border with Argentina
First, I left Uruguay in Brazil at sunrise, heading for the border with Argentina, about 200km away.

I set off while it was still dark.
It was a lovely morning.
It was still cool at this time of day.

I left Uruguay and about 40 minutes later I crossed the bridge over the Ibicui River.

It’s a winery in Itaki.
I heard this area is famous for grapes.

About two hours after I left, I arrived in San Borja, a town on the border with Argentina.
I didn’t go into the town this time and just passed through.

I’m crossing the bridge that connects Brazil and Argentina
It’s called the Integration Bridge.

Just across the bridge, there is a border office
This is where I will go through the immigration procedures for Brazil and Argentina.

I enter the building through the arrow entrance and open the door immediately to the left.
There I go through Brazilian immigration.
I showed my vehicle documents but they said, “We don’t need them here.”
After I’m done with the procedures, I get on my motorcycle and go through Argentina immigration in the middle of the road in front of the building.

*It has been blurred for security reasons
Here, I was asked, as usual, “Where are you going?”, so I said, “I’m going to Encarnación through Posadas,” and I was able to pass easily
I continued on and was checked by Argentine customs
I showed my documents and motorcycle insurance, and they checked the license plate
I was immediately given permission to enter the country, so I set off
It took me about 20 minutes to get through here
Posadas – Encarnación
Now, from here I head to Posadas, the border with Paraguay.
This distance is about 160km
The toll booth at the border exit was free for motorbikes.

I’m going through the border checkpoint

I’ll walk the same old path

There are a lot of trucks on this road.
Are they coming from Paraguay?
I arrived at the checkpoint town of Governador Vilasoro in about 40 minutes.

I entered Misiones province in about an hour and 15 minutes.
I’m almost out of Argentina.

There is a toll booth just before Posadas.

Here too, motorcycles can pass for free, so I take the motorcycle-only road on the right.
Finally, I can see the Paraná River, which marks the border with Paraguay.

I arrived at the Paraguayan border in Posadas, about two hours from the Brazilian border.

Here we go through immigration procedures while still on our motorbikes.
I submitted my paperwork as usual and was able to leave the country easily.
As soon as I finished the procedures and started driving, I came across Argentine customs.

My motorcycle has a Paraguayan license plate, so I was able to pass through here without any checks.
I continued on to the border bridge.

The opposite lane was jammed with cars heading to Posadas.
I made good progress in the lane heading to Encarnación.
Once I crossed the bridge, I was at the Paraguayan immigration desk.

I have a Paraguayan Cedula and my motorcycle is registered in Paraguay, so my procedure was completed quickly.
Even if that wasn’t the case, I think it would be completed quickly because Paraguay has simple checks.
I parked my motorcycle in front and then went to the building to complete the procedure, but we were able to continue riding the motorcycle and park next to the building.
I’m heading to Asuncion now.

I’m about half way there now, and about 4 hours have passed.
I had a smooth border procedure, so this is going faster than I expected.
To Asuncion
Now, I’m on my final sprint to Asuncion, about 370km away.
Encarnacion has a well-maintained beach and is very open.

I cross the bridge

There is a toll booth just before Coronel Bogado, but motorcycles can pass through for free.

I pass on the right
About 45 minutes have passed since I left
I’m going to get on Route 8 from here

In about two hours I arrive at Maciel, a place I had passed before on my way from Caazapa to La Colmena.

It had been repaired a little, but the road conditions are still bad.
I arrived in Paraguari in about 3 hours and 45 minutes.

I walk along a familiar road.
After about four hours, I enter Central Province.

Traffic volume increases around Itauguá

This is where my moment of truth begins.
After about 4 hours and 50 minutes, I finally arrived in the center of San Lorenzo.

Then, ten minutes later, I passed the center of Fernando de la Mora.

I finally arrived in Asuncion 5 hours and 10 minutes after leaving Encarnacion.

I have arrived at my destination

This is a place that those who know will know.
My time from Encarnacion was about 5 hours and 20 minutes.
This time, I was able to travel 720km from Uruguayana, Brazil in about 10 hours as expected.
It was the longest distance and time I have ever traveled, but I find the same roads boring, so I felt that I needed to take some measures for my future travels.
I will stay in Asuncion for some formalities.
