This time I’m heading from Trinidad to Artigas, the capital of Artigas department and a border town with Brazil.
This distance is about 450km.
I’m going to cross Uruguay from south to north.

I started from Constitution Square.

I head east in the dazzling morning sun.

I can’t see the navigation at all, but it’s a straight road so you won’t get lost.
I arrived at Durazno in about 30 minutes.
I’ve been here before, so I’ll skip this one.

However, even though I could have taken the outer main roads, for some reason Google Maps took me through the town of Durazno.
After I left Durazno, I headed north towards Tacuarembo.

Things start to look bad when I enter Tacuarembo province.

It’s starting to rain a little.
It’s only a small amount, so I’ll carry on without a raincoat.

It’s just over the halfway mark and I’ve arrived in Tacuarembó.

I’ve been here before, so I’ll skip it this time.
The weather finally cleared up just before I left Rivera.

I entered Artigas after about 4 hours.
Almost there

I arrived in the center of Artigas in about five hours.

The weather wasn’t very good on this trip, so I had to fight the cold in the morning.
I didn’t expect it to be this cold even though it was summer, so I think it’s a good idea to have my cold weather gear ready at all times.
Also, since I replaced the chain on my motorcycle, I’ve only driven about 3,000km, but it has stretched to its limit, so I’m going to have it serviced in Brazil and replace it.
I guess I have to choose a Japanese-made product after all.
