Motorcycle trouble in Villarica

The morning I left Villarica, I tried to start my motorcycle engine, but the starter wouldn’t turn.

When I pressed the starter button, it didn’t respond, which meant that there was no electricity flowing there, so I first suspected the battery as a possible cause.

Fortunately, I had a multimeter, so I measured the voltage and it was 12.2V.

This is a little low, but it’s fine.

When I pressed the starter button, it still didn’t respond.

However, when I pressed the starter button with the multimeter terminals connected to the battery, the engine started.

In other words, it meant that electricity was not flowing properly from the battery due to poor electrical conduction.

I removed the screws and checked.

I see, the metal of the connection terminal has turned white and corroded.

This is the reason why the battery is not conducting electricity.

I had a steel scrubber, so I polished the metal of the connection and removed the corrosion, and the battery started to conduct electricity.

I looked into it and it seems that this is a common problem, so if it is not conducting electricity, we should check here first.

I’m heading to Caazapa now that the problem is solved.
