Now that I’ve solved the problem of my motorcycle chain frequently coming off, I’d like to travel around cities in Paraguay for a while.
This time I’m heading from Asuncion to Caacupe, the capital of the Cordillera department.
It’s about a 70km journey from A to C on the map.
I could head straight east, but this time I’ll go around Lake Ypacarai and pass through San Bernardino, point B on the map.

There’s always traffic jams around Asuncion.
It can’t be helped since this is the capital, but I wish they could do something about it.

I leave the traffic jam and head towards the airport.

I turn right just before the airport.
When I enter the city of Luque, I am careful because the roads are small.

There is a lot of traffic in the San Bernardino area.

I take a break at La Morena
San Bernardino is famous as a summer resort, but it seems most people hang out in the pool rather than the lake
Is there any point in everyone coming here…?

I leave San Bernardino and head towards Ciudad del Este on Route 2, a pleasant and easy road.

I arrived in the center of Caacupé about an hour and a half after leaving Asuncion.
In front of me is the famous Caacupé Cathedral.

This time, my travel distance and time were short, but I had to be careful all the time, so I couldn’t relax very much.
I’ll stay here for a few days and then I’ll head to Coronel Oviedo.
Date of travel: November 20, 2024
This time’s harvest
In Paraguay, I prefer to take the main roads as much as possible.
